At Croí Laighean Credit Union, we believe that every community is built by people who quietly make a difference every day.

That’s why we’re delighted to partner with Eden FM to launch our new Person of the Community Awards.

Running bi-monthly from October through to August, these awards will celebrate the incredible people who give their time, energy and passion to make our communities stronger, kinder and more connected. Across six different categories, we’ll recognise those whose dedication often goes unnoticed but deserves to be celebrated.

Current award: Lifetime Contribution to the Community

This award recognises someone who has made a lasting and meaningful contribution to their local community over many years.

• Has given their time selflessly without expecting recognition or reward.
• Has helped improve life within their local community.
• Has made a lasting impact on a local club, organisation or community group.
• Has shown dedication and commitment over many years.
• Is widely respected and admired by those around them.
• Inspires others through their kindness, leadership and community spirit.

Who can be nominated?

You can nominate someone who lives, works, volunteers, or makes a positive contribution within the Croí Laighean Credit Union common bond. You don’t need to be a Croí Laighean Credit Union member to submit a nomination.

How it works

1. Submit a nomination: Tell us who you are nominating and why they deserve to be recognised.

2. A shortlist will be announced: Once nominations close, a shortlist will be selected. The shortlist will be shared by Croí Laighean Credit Union and Eden FM.

3. The winner is announced & celebrated: The winner will be announced through Eden FM, and Croí Laighean Credit Union’s website and social channels.

Six opportunities to celebrate our communities

The Croí Laighean Person of the Community Awards will run every two months, with award rounds taking place in October, December, February, April, June and August. Each round will shine a light on a different type of contribution. We’ll reveal the next award when nominations open—no spoilers just yet!

Why we’re doing it

Croí Laighean Credit Union is owned by our members and rooted in the communities we serve. Supporting local people isn’t an occasional campaign for us. It’s part of who we are. Through these awards, we want to give some well-earned recognition to the people who make our communities stronger, kinder and better places to live.

Eden FM shares that commitment to local stories and local people, making this a very natural partnership.
