Your Local Credit Union Helping Our Local Community

Croi Laighean Credit Union has always played a central role in the Kildare and Offaly communities, serving its members. Our members know and love CLCU for our friendly, personable, and face-to-face service. As a member-owned not-for-profit credit union, our work benefits our members and the local community. Each year, we provide great-value loans to our members, with most of them spending the funds locally, thereby boosting the local economy.

At Croi Laighean Credit Union, we actively engage with the community and frequently participate in charity events. Over the last 7 years, we have donated over €728,000 to local clubs and groups through our community fund, sponsorship deals, bursary, and scholarship programs. We remain committed to these activities because we believe that investing in our community fosters a thriving local environment that benefits everyone in the area. Our Community Fund

As a local Credit Union, Croí Laighean dedicates itself to actively supporting and funding initiatives that benefit and assist people within our Common Bond. This commitment led to the creation of the Community Fund, an initiative aimed at empowering local clubs and organisations to thrive and achieve their objectives.

The Community Fund welcomes applications from all clubs and organisations within our common bond. Over the last 7 years, we have donated over €728,000 to the local community. If your club or organisation is interested in applying for the Community Fund, please stay tuned to our social media channels for updates on when the fund will be open for applications.

Pat Jones Bursary

As a local Credit Union, we actively invest in our community. One of the ways we accomplish this is by annually granting the Pat Jones Student Bursary Award to two deserving students. This esteemed award allocates €6,000 to each of the selected students, enabling them to financially support their third-level education.

Over the past 11 years, the bursary has donated a total of over €127,000 in funding to local students.

Sponsorship

For over 50 years, we have actively served our local community as a source of assistance, not simply as a provider of funding. We take pride in our legacy of empowering local individuals and clubs, and throughout the years, we have supported numerous projects through our Credit Union Local Community Sponsorship initiatives.

In addition to our annual Community Fund, we also sponsor clubs, local events, and organisations. You’ve likely encountered our presence in the community! If your club or organisation would like to chat with us about Local Community Sponsorship, call us on 1800 23 24 25, or email welcome@clcu.ie.
